Ryan O’Neal, who became an instant movie star after starring in the 1970 film “Love Story,” has died at 82. His son, Peter, announced the sad news in a lengthy Instagram post but did not mention his cause of death.

Ryan acted alongside Ali MacGraw, and his performance in the film earned him his first and only Academy Award nomination. The actor went on to star in other films including, “Barry Lyndon,” “What’s Up Doc?” and “People I Know.”
Throughout his life, Ryan experienced a few health issues. He was diagnosed with leukemia, but his condition was not life-threatening. The actor went through the necessary treatments and won his battle against leukemia.
