Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from his wife of 7 months, Firerose. The couple tied the knot in October 2023, and now the 62-year-old has filed for divorce from Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges
The documents submitted to the court cite irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the reasons for divorce. Infact, Cyrus is seeking to get an annulment on the marriage on the basis of fraud. There are currently no details on what he means by ‘fraud.’
It was noted by People.com that the couple does not follow one another on Instagram anymore either.
TMZ was the first outlet to break the news of the impending divorce.
The couple have previously talked about how they know one another. They shared how they were friends for years before they began to write songs together during the COVID-19 pandemic. They only began dating in 2022 and subsequently became engaged and finally tied the knot in October 2023.
“10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony,” they wrote in a joint post on social media at the time. “It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.”
The couple has released songs together, which include, “New Day,” “Time,” “Plans” and “After the Storm.” The couple talked about the track “After the Storm” as being a hopeful song which resonated with them personally. Cyrus even said it was a “powerful and timely” song.
