Jaafar Jackson was spotted on the set of the upcoming biopic “Michael,” where he transformed into the likeness of his late uncle, Michael Jackson. The 27-year-old actor was seen filming scenes in downtown Los Angeles, dressed in a navy blue military jacket adorned with gold details, reminiscent of the King of Pop’s iconic style.
Sporting black cropped trousers, tall socks, and black loafers, Jaafar perfectly embodied the essence of his uncle’s fashion sense. Completing the look with oversize aviator sunglasses, he appeared every bit the spitting image of Michael Jackson.
Filming a scene where he greeted adoring fans atop a car in stopped traffic, Jaafar showcased his resemblance to the music legend, smiling and waving to the crowd. The scene, set in the ’80s, featured vintage cars and reflected Michael’s early career years.
The biopic, slated for release on April 18, 2025, also stars Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Miles Teller as Michael’s attorney, John Branca. Expected to cover significant aspects of Michael Jackson’s life, including allegations of sexual abuse, the film has already garnered attention and controversy.
Director Dan Reed criticized the screenplay as “startlingly disingenuous,” particularly regarding its portrayal of Jackson’s interactions with children. However, Jaafar’s portrayal and dedication to the role have earned praise from fans, including his cousin Prince, who shared his excitement for the project on social media.
As filming progresses, Jaafar continues to immerse himself in the role, capturing the essence of his uncle’s persona and leaving an indelible mark on the set of “Michael.”
